Mark Lamia's confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will follow the series precedent of having a number of human controlled characters throughout the campaign.

When the first Call of Duty: Black Ops trailer emerged it looked as though the game would be based on one soldier's flashback but Treyarch head Mark Lamia has told Edge the contrary.

"The story is being told from the moment you put in your disc, to the end of the campaign," he said.

"You do play some different characters along the way, but it's literally... it's going to challenge you to figure out what's going on."

We're already bamboozled!

"It's so immersive, the story is so tied to everything you're doing," Lamia conintued.

"You won't be saying: 'I don't see how the story and the gameplay are connected', but you may be saying: 'how do al lthe pieces fit together?"

"You'll need to make sense of it all - because this is black ops. We embraced everything that was going on in that era in a very big way".

The Black Ops campaign is sounding more and more promising. Combine these story principles with talent such as Ed Harris and Gary Oldman on board and it looks like we're in for a treat.
